Bavaria 49 sails: questions

How much is a new mainsail for a Bavaria 49?

From A$6,495.50 in Dimension-Polyant Optimum Cruise with 3 leech battens and a full-length head batten, or A$6,745.20 with 4 full battens. C-Breeze, the long-life cloth, starts at A$8,455.70. Every mainsail is cut to the Bavaria 49 rig (P 16.60 m, E 5.60 m) with two reefs.

What size genoa does a Bavaria 49 need?

We build 110% to 150% LP for the standard rig (I 17.51 m, J 6.17 m). Pick a smaller genoa for a windy home port and a larger one for light-air sailing. Furling genoas start at A$6,532.90.

What size spinnaker fits a Bavaria 49?

A Size 11 (133 m²) asymmetric suits the Bavaria 49 fore-triangle. It starts at A$3,793.90, or A$4,914.80 with a dousing sock.

What size storm jib and trysail fit a Bavaria 49?

The Offshore Special Regulations cap a storm jib at 5% of I squared (15.3 m² here) and a trysail at 17.5% of P × E (16.3 m²). That makes our Maxi (12 m²) storm jib and Maxi (15.5 m²) trysail the right sizes.

How do I check my boat matches these measurements?

Measure I, J, P and E and compare them with the rig table. We confirm every measurement with you before the sail is cut.
