Shipping Policy
Every sail from sails.online is made to order for your boat. Here's how shipping, prices, duties and taxes work, so you know the full cost before you pay.
Shipping rates
- Australia: A$75 per order, including GST.
- United States: US$75 per order, plus a 15% duty-prepaid charge on your order value (see Import duties and taxes below).
- Standard destinations (listed below): US$75 per order.
- All other countries: US$375 per order, to cover the higher freight costs to remote or less accessible locations.
Rates are per order, not per sail. Your shipping cost is worked out from your delivery address and shown at checkout before you pay. If you think the wrong rate has been applied, contact us and we'll put it right.

Prices and currency
If you're having your sails delivered in Australia, prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and include GST. For delivery to any other country, prices are in US dollars (USD) and are GST-free, because they're export sales. Prices switch to the right currency when you enter your delivery address at checkout.
Build and delivery times
- Builds typically take three to four weeks. Where a product offers a choice of build time, you can choose an express build (about two weeks) or an economy build (about eight weeks) instead.
- Australia and New Zealand: 2–7 business days
- Asia, North America and Europe: 5–12 business days
- Other international: 7–21 business days (subject to customs)
Order tracking
As your sails get close to dispatch, you'll find everything in your customer portal, including tracking numbers and any documents customs may ask for.
Import duties and taxes
- Australia: your price includes GST, and we take care of import clearance, so there's nothing extra to pay on delivery.
- United States: we ship Delivered Duty Paid (DDP). A duty-prepaid charge of 15% of your order value is included in the shipping cost at checkout, and we pay the US import duties and customs clearance, so there's nothing to pay when your sails arrive.
- All other countries: import duties and taxes are your responsibility. They vary from country to country, so they aren't included in our prices. We'll provide the commercial invoice, certificate of origin and any other documents you need to clear customs smoothly.
Additional information
- We ship with international carriers DHL, FedEx and UPS.
- Large sails (upwind sails over 70 m²) may occasionally need special freight handling. If this applies to your order, we'll contact you before dispatch.
- If your sail arrives damaged, please let us know as soon as possible, ideally within 7 days of delivery, with photos, so we can claim on the carrier's insurance. This doesn't limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
