Cal 39-3 (tall mast, shoal draft) sails: questions

How much is a new mainsail for a Cal 39-3 (tall mast, shoal draft)?

From A$3,623.40 in Dimension-Polyant Optimum Cruise with 3 leech battens and a full-length head batten, or A$3,815.90 with 4 full battens. C-Breeze, the long-life cloth, starts at A$4,655.20. Every mainsail is cut to the Cal 39-3 (tall mast, shoal draft) rig (P 14.63 m, E 4.21 m) with two reefs.

What size genoa does a Cal 39-3 (tall mast, shoal draft) need?

We build 110% to 150% LP for the standard rig (I 16.46 m, J 5.09 m). Pick a smaller genoa for a windy home port and a larger one for light-air sailing. Furling genoas start at A$4,243.80.

What size spinnaker fits a Cal 39-3 (tall mast, shoal draft)?

A Size 9 (106 m²) asymmetric suits the Cal 39-3 (tall mast, shoal draft) fore-triangle. It starts at A$3,036, or A$4,016.10 with a dousing sock.

What size storm jib and trysail fit a Cal 39-3 (tall mast, shoal draft)?

The Offshore Special Regulations cap a storm jib at 5% of I squared (13.5 m² here) and a trysail at 17.5% of P × E (10.8 m²). That makes our Maxi (12 m²) storm jib and Medium (7.8 m²) trysail the right sizes.

How do I check my boat matches these measurements?

Measure I, J, P and E and compare them with the rig table. We confirm every measurement with you before the sail is cut.
