Gib'Sea 28 sails: questions

How much is a new mainsail for a Gib'Sea 28?

From A$1,654.40 in Dimension-Polyant Optimum Cruise with 3 leech battens and a full-length head batten, or A$1,804 with 4 full battens. C-Breeze, the long-life cloth, starts at A$2,222. Every mainsail is cut to the Gib'Sea 28 rig (P 9.57 m, E 3.19 m) with two reefs.

What size genoa does a Gib'Sea 28 need?

We build 110% to 150% LP for the standard rig (I 10.30 m, J 3.30 m). Pick a smaller genoa for a windy home port and a larger one for light-air sailing. Furling genoas start at A$1,500.40.

What size spinnaker fits a Gib'Sea 28?

A Size 2 (43 m²) asymmetric suits the Gib'Sea 28 fore-triangle. It starts at A$1,406.90, or A$2,036.10 with a dousing sock.

What size storm jib and trysail fit a Gib'Sea 28?

The Offshore Special Regulations cap a storm jib at 5% of I squared (5.3 m² here) and a trysail at 17.5% of P × E (5.3 m²). That makes our Small (4.5 m²) storm jib the right size. No stock trysail is small enough for this rig, so we quote one to fit.

How do I check my boat matches these measurements?

Measure I, J, P and E and compare them with the rig table. We confirm every measurement with you before the sail is cut.
