Choose your sailcloth
- Challenge Atlantic 10.38 oz: value woven polyester (Dacron). Our lowest price and a good all-round cruising cloth.
- Challenge Fastnet 10.88 oz: a higher-grade woven polyester that holds its shape for longer. Choose it if the sail will work hard or live on the boom.
- Challenge Palma 24 White: a cruising laminate with glued seams. Lighter and holds its shape best; it needs a bit more care with flogging and sun.
Battens
- Full battens (4): run from luff to leech. They hold the sail’s shape, stop it flogging when you reef or drop it, and help it last longer. This is the upgrade we recommend most.
- Leech battens (3): short battens at the leech only. A lower price and a softer, simpler sail.
